Profhilo

Profhilo is an injectable bioremodelling treatment that works by instantly hydrating the skin and providing long term cellular rejuvenation that directly targets and repairs skin laxity. ‘Bioremodelling’ treatments work by stimulating the dermal cells to accelerate the skins natural healing function. This mechanism of cellular activity directly targets and repairs the signs of ageing. Profhilo also has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid (HA) currently on the market.

The treatment works in two phases, instantly hydrating the skin with its high concentration of HA. It then stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin over a period of 12 weeks (a process called neocollagenesis). Prohfilo produces 4 different types of collagen chains, more than any other collagen treatments currently available.

Hyaulronic acid is a naturally-occurring compound found in our skin, joints and connective tissue. It holds 1000 times its weight in water and its primary role is to retain and bind moisture to the skin.

This is where Profhilo can support the skins natural regenerative processes for those who struggle with hydration, & skin elasticity.

Profhilo is a long-term, natural investment for your skin. 2 – 3 treatments are recommended for best results, 6-8 weeks apart, with single maintenance treatments 8 – 12 month there after, or as required.

If you are feeling unwell, are taking antibiotics, have a flare up of an autoimmune condition, recently had a vaccination/ booster shot or recently had any dental work please contact your practitioner and advise prior to your treatment.

PreTreatment Preparation

  • Refrain from using Vitamin A products within 72 hours before your treatment.
  • Avoid sun exposure to your face in the 24 hours preceding your treatment.
  • On the day of the treatment, maintain a clean face and abstain from applying makeup.
  • If you are currently taking blood thinners, aspirin, or any medication that may increase your propensity to bleed easily, kindly inform your practitioner.
  • If you are under the care of a physician and need to discontinue your medication temporarily always seek guidance from your GP before doing so.
  • If you plan to have Botox injections, ensure you allow at least a 2-week gap between the Botox treatment.
  • If you intend to receive dermal filler injections, make sure to wait at least 4 weeks after the injections.
  • In the event of an active breakout of acne or cold sore occurring prior to your treatment, please contact the clinic to reschedule to avoid infection spread.

Post Treatment Care

  • You can expect swelling, bruising and discomfort to the area immediately after treatment.
  • Do not touch your face for 6 hours after treatment to avoid bacteria entering the injection sites. You will go home with an antibacterial ointment on your skin.
  • You can lightly wash your face the evening of treatment and apply a light moisturiser or serum.
  • Make sure you use a clean bath towel and change your pillow case.
  • You will experience lumps in the areas treated for 1–4 days post. Neck lumps tend to hang around a little longer than the face. They will subside. Best results can be seen 3–6 weeks post treatment with up to 3 treatments recommended.
  • Arnica gel/hirudoid can be applied to bruising if you have any.
  • You may massage the treated area gently with hands or Gua Sha daily; this can help the product integrate and lumps to subside quicker.
  • Avoid makeup on the area for 24 hrs due to infection risks.
  • Avoid cardio exercises for 48 hrs post treatment — walking/yoga is ok.
  • Drink lots of fluids (water) for the first 24 hours & avoid alcohol as much as possible for 1 week post to give your body the best chance to heal.
